Travel Info

Our clients fly to Vancouver, BC (YVR) and then catch a commuter flight to Comox, BC (YQQ) on Vancouver Island using Pacific Coastal Airlines. There are other air carriers that fly into Comox, but Pacific Coastal Airlines doesn’t have the firearm or meat restrictions that some of the others do.

We recommend that you arrive in Comox the day before your hunt starts. We would be happy to make reservations for you in comfortable accommodations close to the airport.

Additional Information

  • Our objective is to paint a complete picture of how to travel to and from our camps.
  • If you are traveling with more than 3 pieces of luggage including your gun case, do the following.
    • Put all your hunting gear in one small duffle bag and your street clothes etc. in another.
    • When you check in at any airport, use your gun and your hunting gear as your two primary pieces of luggage. The rest of your luggage is excess and is considered stand-by so should it get bumped, you won't ruin your hunt.
  • The day before the hunt starts, clients fly into Comox B.C. where they are met at the airport and taken to a hotel.
  • Early the next morning, on day 1 of their hunt, clients are met and driven to base camp. This is approximately 100 miles west towards the Pacific side of Vancouver Island. Clients will arrive at base camp around noon. You will sight in your rifle, go through your gear and be out hunting by early afternoon.
  • The day after your hunt is over, Day 6, you will be taken back to Comox. You will get into town about 3 – 4 p.m. From there you fly back to Vancouver, BC.
  • Preparationf hide - should you wish to have the hide prepared here after the hunt, you should anticipate that it will take about 6 months before the hide is tanned and arrives at your taxidermist.
  • Taxidermy - We have a first class taxidermist in central B.C. who can assist you with all your taxidermy requirements.
