Payment, liability & cancellation
Payment Schedule
- We accept personal or corporate checks for either deposits or final payments on scheduled payment dates as per your Hunt Contract. Payments may also be made by wire transfer.
- The final payment is due by March 1 of your hunt year and includes the final deposit, tag and license fees, and all taxes.
- For our non-Canadian clients we collect only 3 1/2 % GST instead of 7%. In this way we take care of any rebate that our clients would otherwise have to apply for from the Canadian government.
Liability Waiver
We include our insurance liability waiver in our Hunt Info package. As a condition of our insurance, our insurance broker requires all our clients be a participant in our liability waiver. Should a potential client choose not to execute the waiver, we will be unable to take them hunting.
Cancellation Policy
In the case of cancellation, deposits will be refunded less a 25% service charge, provided that a mutually acceptable client can be booked as per the Hunt Contract. We do not provide travel or cancellation insurance for any deposits. We strongly encourage clients to purchase cancellation insurance.
Hunt Info Package
Around the first of February we mail out a complete hunt package that includes:
- Travel instructions and contact information
- A liability waiver
- A letter of intent stating that you are coming to Canada to hunt with Vancouver Island Hunts Ltd. This is done to deal with any questions at either Canadian or American Customs.
- A copy of the Non-Resident Firearms Declaration Form. With this in hand your passage through Canadian Customs is simplified.
- A Non-Resident Hunting Application for your hunting licenses. We will have all your tags and licenses waiting for your arrival at base camp.
- A suggested equipment list.
- The final balance of payment and due date.
